Before the tour, we recommend you to read the following book by Iris Chang:The Rape of Nanking, a book that recounts the horrible events in that eastern Chinese city under Japanese occupation in the late 1930s. Nanking, she writes, served as a kind of laboratory in which Japanese soldiers were taught to slaughter unarmed, unresisting civilians, as they would later do throughout Asia. Likening their victims to insects and animals, the Japanese commanders orchestrated a campaign in which several hundred thousand--no one is sure just how many--Chinese soldiers and noncombatants alike were killed. Chang turns up an unlikely hero in German businessman John Rabe, a devoted member of the Nazi party who importuned Adolf Hitler to intervene and stop the slaughter, and who personally saved the lives of countless residents of Nanking. She also suggests that the Japanese government pay reparations and apologize for its army's horrific acts of 60 years ago.

The Many Faces of Black Sabbath - Limited Editi...

The album takes off with Tony Iommi, the founding guitarist, and the only member who has remained in all the band's lineups. Talking about Tony is a synonym for Black Sabbath; therefore, The Many Faces begins with him and his collaboration with Bobby Harrison. For most people, the name of Bobby Harrison could have little meaning, but for students of the confines of the world of rock, Bobby was the first drummer of Procol Harum, whom he abandoned shortly after recording A Whiter Shade of Pale, the band’s iconic track. Bobby retired because he wanted to start his own project: Freedom, a hard rock band who ended up having little success. In 1975, Bobby recorded Funkiest, a solo album for which he recruited a range of top collaborators such as guitarist Micky Moody (Whitesnake), bass player Herbie Flowers (Lou Reed, T. Rex, among many others), drummer Ian Paice (Deep Purple) and keyboardist Matthew Fisher (Procol Harum) and Tony Iommi, who does an excellent guitar work on King Of the Night, the track included here. In 1976, the British hard rock band Quartz, from Birmingham, embarked, as a support group, on a tour with their friends and fellow citizens Black Sabbath. To honor the friendship and good times shared, Tony Iommi produced their eponymous debut album, released in 1977, from where we included the song: Mainline Riders. Guitarist/Keyboardist Geoff Nicholls from Quartz left the band in 1979 to precisely join Black Sabbath with whom he stayed until 2004. Then in 2011, Quartz re-formed with a line-up consisted of Geoff Nicholls, Mike Hopkins, Derek Arnold, Malcolm Cope and former vocalist David Garner releasing the album Fear No Evil in 2016. Nicholls died in early 2017 but in his final days, he wrote and recorded with Quartz the song Highway to Madness' that has been unreleased until now. Thanks to the band, we have the exclusive on this special edition of The Many Faces of Black Sabbath. Cozy Powell was one of the most iconic musicians in the history of British rock. Member of Jeff Beck Group, Whitesnake, Rainbow and Black Sabbath, among many other projects, he is one of the pillars when talking about rock drummers. Cozy played in Black Sabbath’s albums Headless Cross (89), Tyr (90) and Forbidden (95). In The Many Faces we introduced him with a Bedlam song (I Believe In You), his own project, which released its only album in 1973. This version is a rare live recording that will be especially appreciated by Cozy’s fans. In the chaotic world of Black Sabbath, drummers have changed a lot following the split of the original lineup, after the departure of Ozzy Osbourne in 1978. In 1983, following the departure of Ronnie James Dio, Black Sabbath makes a strange move when it incorporated singer Ian Gillan, Deep Purples’ original vocalist. Together they recorded the album Born Again (83), that has many enjoyable moments. In The Many Faces we listen to Ian with its powerful track Finally The Finale, recorded for his own solo project. Next is Bev Bevan, drummer and founding member of two institutions of the British rock: the psychedelic group The Move and pop-rock symphonic band Electric Light Orchestra. Bev played with Sabbath in the tour for the album Born Again, and here we hear him in the song Flowers In The Rain, the psychedelic classic he recorded with The Move in 1967 and which reached #2 in the British singles chart. Drummer Eric Singer, has been a member of Kiss for more than 20 years. However, between 1986 and 1987 he was Black Sabbath's drummer and recorded with the band the albums Seventh Star and The Eternal Idol . He appears here doing a version of Ozzy Osbourne's hit Over The Mountain along Brad Gillis (Night Ranger), Mark Slaughter (Slaughter), Gary Moon and Paul Taylor. One of Black Sabbath's most iconic songs has been without a doubt Paranoid . We include here a version that features a superstar line-up including Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe, Dokken's guitar master George Lynch, bassist Stu Hamm (Steve Vai, Joe Satriani) and drummer Greg Bissonette (David Lee Roth, Steve Vai, Spinal Tap) Drummer Vinny Appice was part of Black Sabbath in four different occasions recorded multiple albums with the band between 1982 and 2010. In The Many Faces he appears along Marko Pukkila, Rowan Robertson and Andy Endberg doing a rockin' remake of Van Halen's And The Cradle Will Rock . The album Seventh Star from 1986 wasn't one of the band's more successful (actually, it was supposed to be Tony Iommi's solo debut). However, that line-up included (alongside Nicholls, Singer and Dave Spitz) legendary bassist and singer Glenn Hughes on vocals. Known by fans as The Voice Of Rock , he performs Freak Out Tonight with Chris Catena, Tony Franklin and Bruce Kulick from Kiss. LP2 of our collection is dedicated to Black Sabbath's stellar catalog. Most of their hits are included here: War Pigs , Into the Void , Iron Man , Children of The Grave and Snowblind among others, performer by bands that were heavily influenced by BS including Leaving Eden, High Voltage Cornivus and Fierce Atmospheres. Enjoy this journey through the darkest confines of Black Sabbath's world!

Middle-earth: SoWis an action role-playing video game developed by Monolith Productions and published in 2017. It is the sequel to the Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor from 2014 and it continues the story from the previous game, following the adventures of Talion as he travels the Middle-earth along with his spirit elf lord companion, Celebrimbor.Shadow of War Gold Editionis a bundle that packs together the base game and its expansion packs + gold war chest:Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion -The first nemesis expansion pack adds the titular enemy tribe. Orcs from the Slaughter Tribe can ambush you at any point in the game, which provides a new random challenge meant to surprise you when you expect it the least. The DLC also introduces multiple new missions, enemies, and fatalities, as well as allows you to acquire a new powerful Legendary Gear Set.Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion -The second nemesis expansion pack has a lot in common with the previous one, but this time it focuses on the Outlaw Tribe instead. As such, it introduces Outlaw Tribe enemies and all the related content, including new fatalities, followers, stories, and a new Legendary Gear Set.The Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion -The first story expansion pack focuses on the adventures of Talion’s ally, Eltariel – Blade of Galadriel – and starts on the tower of Barad-dûr. During the new engaging campaign, you will meet new enemies, find new legendary gear, but most importantly, you will be able to try out the new dual-wield combat. The Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion -The second story expansion pack allows you to play as Baranor, the Captain of the Tower from Minas Ithil. Because Baranor is a mortal, the game features permadeath mechanics. Additionally, you will not be able to use superhuman skills – you will have to utilize new abilities and tools, such as a hook and parachute in order to defeat your enemies.StoryThe game picks the story where Shadow of Mordor left off and continues the adventures of Talion, who along with Celebrimbor travels to Mount Doom in order to forge a new Ring of Power. As a result of unforeseen events, after forging the ring, Talion is forced to head towards the stronghold of Minas Ithil, where Sauron’s forces are trying to retrieve the Palantír, a powerful artifact used to show its owner the events happening in different parts of the world, or even events that happened in the past and events that are bound to happen in the future. Palantír draws both Talion and Celebrimbor closer to Sauron, and as they are nearing the confrontation with the Dark Lord, it turns out their plans and motivations are not exactly the same.Gameplay and Game ModesShadow of War is an action RPG played from the third-person perspective. It is set in the open world based on the works of J. R. R. Tolkien. Talion, as your controllable character, can utilize both human and elven abilities, thanks to the spirit of elf lord, Celebrimbor, with whom Talion shares his body. This uncommon partnership gives you access to skills such as Elven Agility, Spectral Dash, and Domination. The last one is particularly useful, as it allows you to take control over enemy leaders and infiltrate the ranks of Sauron’s army by filling it with your allied Orcs. This in combination with the returning Nemesis system creates deeper gameplay that requires you to spy and gain intel on the Captains and Warchiefs in order to find their weak points and choose the best way to approach them. New skills can be acquired as you develop your character and earn new levels.Besides the single-player story mode, the game also allows you to play online and conquer other players’ fortresses in either friendly or ranked mode.ReceptionShadow of War Gold Edition for PC received positive reviews. Reviewers praised the fact that the game is bigger and more ambitious than its predecessor. They noted the smooth and engaging combat system, as well as the beautiful environment, and challenging difficulty. They also put emphasis on the deep story, and the unique Nemesis System which came back after its successful introduction in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

His incentive: his brother is being held at a federal prison back East on charges of sedition. If Slaughter does not bring back the biologist, his brother will be executed. 1989. Salvadorian society is immersed in the horror of civil war. On a fateful November dawn, a group of armed men entered the Universidad Católica and murder six Jesuits priests and two women in cold blood. Survivor of the massacre Father Tojeira is forced to take the reins of control in the sinister days following the attack, desperate to uncover the truth behind the terrible slaughter.  Inspired by the real-life tragic events that shook El Salvador and Latin America, November is a moving and unsettling novel about fear, hate and impunity. It is the first book to cast some light on the crime that was never solved and an attempt to speak out, as the murdered Jesuits attempted to do, in the defence of the disadvantaged. 1.
